The video comes from David Law, who was onboard the Canopus from 1976 to 1977.  He was a Photographer's Mate Second Class in the Photo Lab.

David was lucky enough to attended the Ceremony and using his Naval photo-graphic skills took almost 2.5 hours of video of the preparation for the ceremony; the ceremony itself; and the Canopus departure from Kings Bay.  As you will see, he did a GREAT job!

The full movie was been edit down to about a hour and half and broken into 15 clips.  If your browser-video player combination allows, you may be able to stream it. Otherwise depending on the speed of your Internet connection, it make take several minutes to a very long time for it to download first before it will start playing.

The video is available as a high-quality high-resolution two DVD disc set.  Disc 1 is the edited 1.5 hour movie.  The second disc is the complete 2.5 hour of footage, which is a must-have if you were there and think you may be in a missing scene.

The set can be ordered through the Ship's Store for $20.

If you see yourself in one of the clips, please leave a message in the Deck Log.
