The Association had two very special guests at this year's reunion. On the left is

Helen Watkins, researcher at Department of Geography of the University of

Sheffield, UK. She is interested in the Canopus as it is in nearby Teesside awaiting

breakup, and she is part of a multi-year, multi-university study calledThe Waste of

the World. She came to our reunion to get background information on our ship. For

On the right is Barbara Mossner, whose father, Zygmond Budzaj, was a CPO on the

Old Canopus and received the Silver Star for his heroic efforts on board the

Canopus at Mariveles Bay.  You can read his citation here:   Barbara honored

us by being our AS-9 representative.
